The Kiwanis Club of Windsor continually searches out ways to address the unmet needs of children in our community. We participate in a number of charitable activities and Kiwanis-sponsored school clubs. If you would like to assist us with these activities, please consider Joining our club.
Scholarships – We provide academic scholarships to Windsor High School students based on student performance and need.
Dictionary Giveaway – We work with the Knights of Columbus, the Lions Club, and the Rotary Club to provide dictionaries to third grade students throughout Windsor.
Relay for Life Breakfast– We provide free breakfast to participants in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life in Windsor in July.
Thanksgiving Food Drive – We collect food and money for families in Windsor. The food and money is given to the Windsor Service Alliance for distribution.
Christmas Toy Giveaway– We give away toys to children and families in need during the holiday season. We place collection bins throughout Windsor to collect toys, and we also have a Wreath and Candy Booth at the Exchange Bank in Windsor to generate more funds to purchase toys. All toys are given out in conjunction with the Windsor Service Alliance.
Windsor Day Parade – We organize and sponsor the Windsor Day Parade in conjunction with the Town of Windsor.
Easter Egg Hunt – We coordinate the Easter Egg Hunt in Windsor.
Kiwanis Family House – We sponsor the Kiwanis Family House in conjunction with Cal-Nev-Ha Kiwanis and the UC Davis Medical Center. Since its opening in 1984, the Kiwanis Family House has housed more than 10,000 families from around the United States and the world. The house provides temporary quarters for families of patients at the medical center, mostly children, who live in other communities where the specialized care they need is not available.
Kiwanis Foundations – We contribute to both the Cal-Nev-Ha Kiwanis District Foundation and Kiwanis International Foundation, which distribute targeted matching grants.
Miscellaneous – We routinely contribute, via participation and donation, to the service projects and fundraisers of fellow Kiwanis clubs and other local non-profit organization.
